Are copywriting quotes too expensive for your company to afford? Don’t be tempted to cut corners by ordering poor quality content. Recycling content from other sites could cause you to be penalised by Google (or even sued), and it can be problematic to order web content from someone whose first language isn’t English.
There are some other ways to bring your bills down, and we always try to help clients get copy writing services at an affordable price. Here are a few ideas.
Can you shorten your web content?
When considering a new web content writing project, don’t forget to take your page layout into account. Readers don’t like to scroll down to read ordinary web pages, so you may not need as much content as you think. Often we can cut a client’s budget in half by being sensible and only fleshing out the pages that really need it.
Do you really need all that copy for a brochure?
Some clients request copywriting services for brochures. Often, they size down the brochure once they find that writing all that copy will cost more than the cost of printing the brochures. Unless you’re making a magazine, you probably don’t need 24 pages of written content for a company brochure.
Where does your freelance blogger fit in your marketing strategy?
When deciding on the length of blogs and articles, consider how your blogger actually fits in with your wider marketing budget. Don’t employ someone to write 1,000 word blogs without ensuring that content is well-structured for SEO. If you’re going to spend that kind of money, you need to ensure your copywriter is a subject matter expert and they are up-to-speed with SEO principles and formatting conventions. Otherwise, stick to shorter blogs which aren’t as specialised and won’t cost as much.
Are you investing in good quality web content?
When ordering web content from a freelance copywriter, take care to ensure they create original articles that are well-researched and don’t plagiarise: you can check this by using Copyscape if you’re not sure. Some writers lean heavily on unreliable sources or competitor websites. This can cause duplicate content issues, and stolen content could also land you in legal trouble. Either way, you will have to take that content down eventually. It is usually worth spending that little bit more for content that is of a higher standard.
